Apple pie is a delectable and cozy dessert that is loved by people everywhere. Making it from home is not as challenging as it would sound, and it is a traditional treat that has been loved for ages. We will go through how to make a delectable apple pie in detail in this article.

Ingredients:

To make the crust:

All-purpose flour, 2 1/2 cups

1 salt shaker

1/8 cup sugar

1 cup cold, cubed unsalted butter

1/2 to 1 cup of iced water

When filling:

6 cups sliced, cored, and peeled apples (Granny Smith apples work well)

Granulated sugar, 1/2 cup

quarter cup brown sugar

Lemon juice, two tablespoons

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/8 nutmeg teaspoon

14 teaspoons of salt

Unsalted butter, two teaspoons

cornflour, 3 tablespoons

Using egg wash:

2 tablespoons water and 1 egg

Instructions:

*preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

*Make the pie crust first. Combine the flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well.

*Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to cut the cold, cubed butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs after adding it to the bowl.

*Little by bit, add ice water to the mixture while gently stirring until the dough comes together. All of the water might not be necessary.

*Make two equal portions of the dough, and then roll each portion into a ball. Make a disc out of each ball, then wrap them in plastic wrap. For at least 30 minutes, place the dough in the refrigerator to chill.

*Prepare the filling while the dough is chilling. The sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and cornflour should all be combined in a big basin. Mix well.

*Roll out one of the dough discs into a circle that is about 12 inches in diameter on a surface that has been lightly dusted with flour. Roll out the dough and place it on a 9-inch pie plate, cutting any extra from the edges.

*Make sure the apple filling is distributed evenly when you pour it into the pie crust. Spread the two tablespoons of unsalted butter, which has been cut into small pieces, over the filling.

*The second disc of dough should be rolled out into a circle that is 12 inches in diameter. Strips of dough approximately one inch broad should be cut out.

*Create a lattice pattern with the dough strips by arranging them over the pie's top and weaving them in and out. Trim the edges of any extra dough.

*To produce an egg wash, mix together the egg and water in a small bowl. The pie's top should be egg washed.

*Bake the pie for 45–50 minutes, or until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown, in a preheated oven.

*Before slicing and serving, take the pie out of the oven and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.

Although making an apple pie from scratch may appear difficult, it is really pretty easy. Your family and friends will adore the homemade apple pie you can make with a few basic ingredients and little perseverance. So go ahead and try it; your taste senses will appreciate it!
